The J. R. Simplot Company is a privately owned food and agribusiness corporation based in Boise in Idaho. The company employs approximately 10,000 people in the United States, Canada, China, Mexico, Australia and Europe. Annual sales are around $3 billion and are derived mainly from food, fertilizer, turf and horticultural, cattle feed and other agribusiness-related enterprises.
Simplot is one of the world's largest frozen-potato processors. Worldwide the company currently produces 3 billion pounds of French fries and other potato products a year. The company also is one of the largest beef-cattle producers in the United States with markets in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The company is named after its founder J. R. Simplot (1909-2008).

Although the Simplot name is new to Australia, our brands, people and plants have a long history there. Simplot Australia is one of Australia's top ten food and beverage companies, and manufactures frozen, canned and baked products that are sold through an extensive network of major supermarkets, convenience stores and food service outlets.
The Simplot potato processing plant in Portage la Prairie in Manitoba in Canada is one of the most modern potato processing plants in the world. The processing facility, which was completed and began operating in 2003, serves food service customers on the East Coast and in the Midwest and Southeast.
Simplot is the only multinational potato processor with processing facilities in China that meet international standards. Beijing Simplot Food Processing Co. Ltd. is a joint venture facility situated in Nanyuan just outside of Beijing. Simplot China Inc. maintains an office in Beijing to service the growing needs of customers in the region. Simplot International Trading services customers throughout China and represents Simplot food products produced in Simplot facilities all over the world. Our China operations also include turf seed sales and consultancy services provided by our subsidiary company Jacklin Seed.
Simplot Korea specialises in presenting ‘Western’ products and menus to the Korean food service industry. Simplot Korea works with customers to develop Western menus that appeal to Korean tastes. Our marketing and culinary teams work together to expand the range of clients in the food service sector and to meet the needs of the changing consumer on the Korean peninsula.
Simplot is involved in four joint-venture facilities in Mexico and one in Guatemala. These plants produce a wide variety of food products, including fresh and frozen vegetables, fruit, and blends.
