Simplot Europe
Simplot was originally a family company that was set up in America in 1923. These days Simplot sells frozen potato and vegetable products throughout the world and currently employs more than 10,000 people.
Simplot Europe was set up in the Netherlands in 1995 and distributes appetizers, tropical fruit, tortillas, guacamole and other (avocado) products throughout Europe and the Middle East. We play a leading role in meeting the growing demand for variety, quality, time-saving food preparation methods and new ideas in professional kitchens throughout Europe.
Jack Simplot (1909-2008), who founded the company, set up a small livestock farm in Idaho when he was just fourteen. He won a potato sorting machine in a game of chance and that was the start of his dream. The company that he set up went on to become one of the largest potato and vegetable processing concerns in the world.
Fair trade is a social movement that promotes the payment of a fair price and compliance with social and environmental standards in international trade, especially when it comes to exports from developing countries to the industrialised West.
